The S4 League Beta has been released!
Download the official beta the game client.
and while you wait for the download, go and register for an account to play.
After installation and creation of your account, you may now enter the game!
At first you will be promoted to choose a user name. Becareful what you pick because this will be your character's name forever, even for the additional characters you will be able to create upon reaching higher ranks.
Once you finished choosing your name, you will be prompted again to enter a tutorial. Take it as it gives you extra Pen (currency) to start with as well as cover the essentials.
The following is a screenshot of the default keybinding, you may set the keys to whatever you want in the configuration.
Keys:
1 2 3 - Weapon Change, you may have up to 3 weapons equipped at the same time. It's preferred to carry 2 ranged weapons and 1 melee.
A S D W - Movement, standard movement keys for most games, A for left, D for right, W forward and S is back.
R - Reload, very important to reload between battles since it consumes valuable seconds during battle. It is generally better switching to another weapon than reloading during an encounter.
Shift - Uses your equipped Skill, void if using a passive skill.
Spacebar - Jump, combined with directional keys to perform an evade. Directional jumping can also trigger a ground-roll effect upon landing.
Left Mouse Click - Weapon Attack, shots with your guns or swings with your swords. Holding down this button can also charges an attack or uses a 'heavy' attack.
Right Mouse Click - Special Attack, only applies to some weapons. Some uses including scope zoom in or dash attack.
Mouse Scroll Wheel - Zoom in and out, can go to 1st person view this way.
Before heading off to your first game, make sure you check out the Shop!
Here you can acquire licenses to weapons and skills which will grant you the licensed item a few hours of free usage. Be sure to grab a few that looks interesting and test them out before buying them!
Finally before heading off, check your Mission List and the leveling system.
